FAQ-13 Can these Skills be Used in Print?
Today’s question comes to use from Dave Monkavists of Flagstaff, Arizona, now I hope I am pronouncing your name correctly Dave. He says:
In my industry everything is done through RFP or Request For Proposal, and I rarely get a chance to see anybody in person. Can I still use these particular skills?
And the answer to that is absolutely, these strategies work well in print and they will help you to design and implement a much better proposal for your particular prospects if you are not going to have the opportunity to see them.
But more importantly one of the things you can also do is become an expert is helping people in your industry design these proposals because you can take them through a questioning strategy to help them understand their most compelling outcomes. What do they really want to achieve of this particular system that they are putting out the request for proposal for?
And if you are able to insinuate yourself in the RFP process, you are able to design a proposal request that can be slanted towards your particular industry you are going to be able to more clearly and specifically answer that proposal because you were there in the process so you are able to get some of the answers behind the answers that aren’t necessarily going to show up in print.
So it is a little bit more of a difficult situation, obviously you don’t have the ability to have the sensory acuity and really understand what it is that the client is experiencing in the moment. But it is still an effective use of these skills and techniques to help you be more effective in your influence and persuasion practice.
So thanks a lot for the question we will talk to you soon!
