FAQ-10 Do you Expect Us to Use Hypnosis in Selling?
Today’s question is not so much a question for us, as it is a question of us!
And it has come from several different readers, one of whom is Cindy Gilbert of New Rachelle, New York. And Cindy writes:
Do you really expect us to use hypnosis in selling?
And the answer is yes and no! Actually we are going to address that more deeply in several of the future Frequently Asked Questions because we do get a lot of questions asked along this same line.
But even if you are not going to use trance, and we will talk about how you could use trance conversationally to understand what your clients are looking to achieve even better and more clearly. There are a lot of skills of the Master Hypnotist that you can use in your sales and persuasion practice.
One of which is getting very clear on the outcome that the client is looking to achieve. And what and how do I mean that? One of the things that a hypnotist has to understand if he is going to be doing a hypnotherapy type practice is what are the outcomes that the client is looking for? What we call their compelling emotional outcomes. Why are those important to them? How is life going to be different for them, once they have achieved those outcomes? And how will they know they have been achieved? What are the parameters they are going to use to assess whether or not their particular criteria has been met?
Here is one of the interesting things that many hypnotherapists will tell you is very often once you have gone through this questioning process, the client will have done so much of the work already, that going into the trance induction that they are going to do in this hypnotherapy session. Really is at this point a formality and an opportunity for the hypnotist to future pace this particular outcome.
And that is very applicable to selling; influence and persuasion because one of our key rules is your client and prospects will sometimes believe what you tell them! But they will always accept without resistance the conclusions that they come to on their own. And this hypnotic questioning strategy that we teach in several of our download products, and inside the members area, and in our Master Classes is one of the keys to having your clients strategically conclude the things that are in your best interest and their best interest.
