Today’s question is:

What are the objections that you get from clients and prospects actually telling you?

And I want to talk to you about that specifically and in general, because it’s a little bit differently. Specifically when you get an objection from one client it’s telling you either a comment, concern, question that they have, that hasn’t been addressed yet. Or it may also be indicating a hole in your process. I actually view objections as what I get when I didn’t execute every step of my persuasion process flawlessly. So those individual objections tell you comments, questions, concerns that haven’t yet been addresses and where value may not yet have been established.

But if you are like very many people that seem to get the same objections over and over again. What do you then suspect that it’s telling you? My answer to that is one of two things. Very often what it is doing is identifying something that we have in our mind that is a limiting belief or a perceived weakness in our particular product or service offering. Or it is telling us something that we are projecting out to clients and attracting back again.

For example in the world of financial services where I do a fair amount of work. One thin that happens a lot is young advisors will be asked the questions about how long they have been in the business. Once they are able to get over that hurdle in their mind, suddenly what do you think happens to the objection? It disappears, they don’t get it anymore.

So if we are getting something over and over again, that simply means there is an opportunity for us to get inside and do a little inner game work. To find out how we can solve a particular perceived problem or limiting belief that is holding us back that will allow us to take our persuasion to the next level.

Now if you have got an issue like that that you are dealing with.
